TEMPORAL LIFT / LATERAL BROW LIFT SURGERY

Deterioration often occurs quite rapidly and it can seem that almost overnight the eyes lose their look of alertness. This contributes to a tired looking face which appears older than its years, which is especially distressing to someone who is still young.

Temporal temporal lift, also known as mini face lift or lateral brow lift surgery  is one of the new generation of plastic surgery procedures as it works on the outer eye area - usually the first place ageing appears. This 'outer eye area' extends down the side of the face to the upper cheek. Ageing in this area has a dramatic effect on the overall appearance of the face.

The surgeon makes a vertical incision on the temples behind the line of hair growth so that the resulting scar will be concealed. Through this incision he tightens the muscles of the temples, raising the eyebrow's tails. This adds an exotic touch to the look and restores the eye's freshness.

After a temporal lift the eyes again look bright and alert, which gives the whole face a fresh and well rested appearance. The procedure lightens hooding of the outer eyelid, reduces deep lines and the look of heaviness around the eyes and restores a firm outer-eye area. The result is entirely natural and patients have found that if people do comment afterwards, they are most likely to say how well and relaxed they look, or ask if they have been away on a holiday.

An additional advantage of the temporal lift is that, by correcting such an important part of the face, the overall appearance of ageing is delayed well into the future.
Indeed, this surgery has a preventive effect if performed while the patient is still young. It consists in introducing special threads beneath the skin that will produce fibrosis in the sub dermal tissues. The threads and the fibrosis make up a structure that sustains the tissues of the area and delays the appearance of flaccidity.
Performed together with eye lift surgery (blepharoplasty), neck lift surgery and face lift surgery (rhytidectomy), it completely rejuvenates the face and neck.

The temporal brow lift is a procedure in which smaller incisions are made in the temple region of the forehead and scalp. Most of the incision is hidden in the scalp with a small portion placed on the side of the forehead. This approach has the advantage of being a smaller procedure requiring less dissection.

AFTER THE PROCEDURE
You will notice an improvement in the appearance of your forehead immediately. A very mild swelling usually takes several weeks to subside. You should be able to resume your normal daily activities the day after surgery, and you should be able to resume all of your physical activities within two weeks of surgery.

RECOVERY
You will have to rest at the hotel for 48 hours
Try to take it easy for the first week at least, after surgery. You should be able to shower and shampoo your hair within two days, or as soon as the bandage is removed.

Most of the visible signs of surgery should fade completely within about three weeks. You may feel a bit tired and let down at first, but your energy level will increase as you begin to look and feel better.

You can do many activities within the first week, and most by at least three weeks.

Patients generally feel a sense of tightness and numbness that should gradually return to normal within several weeks.

PAIN
Low. Pain that is mostly gone by the second or third day and easily controlled by medications.

REMOVAL OF THE STITCHES
One week to 10 days after the surgery.

BRUISES AND SWELLING
The incidence of swelling and bruises may last one week approximately. Sleeping with the head in a high position and applying cold compresses will help you recover faster

SCARS
The scars are often hidden within your hair and in the normal creases of your skin. unless you have bald spots.

For some individuals, the neck begins to show age faster than whole face and many times patients only need a neck lift, rather than a full face lift. However, when a Brow Lift is chosen and a Neck Lift is included - these two together can complete the rejuvenation package. Sometimes, it isn't age that determines the need for a neck lift, but rather having lost considerable weight or it may even be hereditary feature you'd like to remedy. In fact, many younger people undergo neck lift. Many men and women who have undergone neck lift are often thought to have "lost a lot of weight" or "toned up" rather than having had surgery.
Jowls can form from fatty deposits at the jaw line and laxity in the muscles, the neck muscles may begin to separate and hang, creating "bands" and the skin may hang more that we'd like creating the "turkey waddle" look. If this is the case perhaps you'd like to further research the neck lift.

HOW WILL THE PROCEDURE BE PERFORMED?
With Makeover Travel, your neck lift includes a combination of three procedures.
1) Cervicoplasty, where excess skin is removed.
2) Platysmaplasty, where neck muscles are removed or altered.
3) Neck Liposuction to remove fat deposits from the neck.

If your neck-lift requires liposuction to remove excess fat, the liposuction procedure
is typically performed first. An incision will be made below the chin to remove
the excess fat deposits. The fat deposits will be removed by inserting a small cannula (a hollow tube with an opening near its blunt end) beneath the skin and
into the fatty tissue. The cannula is used to break up the fat, and then remove it
from the neck area. A bandage will be applied to reduce swelling and discomfort. The doctor may also apply a bandage around your neck and head.

During cervicoplasty, two incisions are made either under or behind the ear. When combined with a platysmaplasty, a small incision is made under the chin.
Sections of skin are trimmed, lifted into place and sutured. Then, a section of fat
and muscle is removed and the ends are sutured together at the mid-anterior
(front) section of the neck. The skin can be brought together under or behind the
ear to further firm up appearance of the neck.

If you are having a neck lift in conjunction with liposuction, facelift, brow lift, or other surgeries, the time will vary accordingly.

RECOVERY
During the recovery period, doctors usually have patients wear a compression garment for several days. This garment helps improve blood circulation, minimize swelling, and flush out potentially harmful fluids. The compression garment can allow the patient to heal from their necklift faster and minimize the amount of downtime while providing comfort and support to the neck.

Even though swelling takes a few weeks to subside, patients should be able to start seeing the results of their neck lift within a week following surgery. Patients will notice more definition in their neck and under the jaw line.

The duration of the results depend on the type of procedures used. The neck lift procedure can last about seven to twelve years, but this varies from patient to patient. A facelift also lasts about the same amount of time. Patients can choose to undergo another facelift and necklift when they start to notice their results fading. Otherwise, their appearance will revert to a pre-surgical state. Liposuction permanently removes fat deposits from the neck. Fat can still grow in other areas, and that is why it is important to stay in shape even after undergoing liposuction.

The incisions will feel tight and your neck may ache for the first 24 to 48 hours.

Limit exposure to the sun for several months.

PAIN
Your surgeon will prescribe medication for any pain. After 48 hours, most people are more comfortable and will usually discontinue their pain medication.

REMOVAL OF THE STITCHES
It is important during your recovery to keep the sutures clean and well covered in a layer of antibacterial ointment until the sutures are removed after 14 days.

BRUISES AND SWELLING
Bruising may persist for several weeks. The contours of your neck may at first be distorted from swelling, and facial movements may be somewhat stiff.

SCARS
They will be located behind the ears and hidden by the hair.

As we age, our facial skin loosens and wrinkles, and the muscles of the neck may weaken as well. HOW WILL THE PROCEDURE BE PERFORMED?

During your consultation your surgeon will examine the structure of your face,
skin texture, and elasticity. Sometimes one's underlying facial skeleton
may contribute to their skin sagging, for example a weak chin or small
cheek bones, and correcting these problems with chin or cheek implants will
greatly improve the results of facelift surgery. He analyzes your skin type and how
the upper and middle parts of your face as well as your eyes may contribute to your aging appearance.

The surgeon begins the incision above the hairline at the temples, extending in a natural line in front of the ear, and continues behind the earlobe to the lower scalp. He separates the skin from the fat and muscle below, trimming or suctioning fat
from around the neck to improve the contour. He tightens the underlying muscle
and membrane, and then he pull the skin back, and removes the excess.
