HOW WILL THE PROCEDURE BE PERFORMED?

Buttocks augmentation is a very popular procedure at our clinics. The buttocks are augmented with the use of implants specifically designed for such use or with your own fat, depends on you. Weightlifters sometimes request Buttock implants to augment underdeveloped Gluteal muscles to give a more balanced look as they have less actual body fat percentage to liposuction and re-inject.

Buttock Augmentation with the Micro Fat Grafting Technique...
This is the method most frequently chosen by our surgeons and patients for augmentation (enlarging) of the buttocks. But you must have enough "spare" fat in areas such as the abdomen, flanks, hips, lower back or thighs.
The fat is gently removed using low-vacuum liposuction with a special cannula that is very thin and least-damaging. The fat particles are then purified, and then inserted into the layers of the buttocks through a single 1/8" incision.  The tiny droplets of fat are carefully implanted near tiny vessels so that improved vascularity and adequate blood supply is given to the newly placed fat cells to increase chances for survival.
There are several benefits to this procedure.
- Since it is your own tissue being used, no foreign bodies are detected by your body.
- It allows you to get the fuller buttock you want while shrinking another less desirable area.
- There are no considerable incisions with this procedure.

- If you do lose weight, you don't lose your buttocks. It comes off all over your
  body,  so you stay proportional.
 

Buttock Augmentation with Implants:
Buttocks implants are soft, but much stronger than breast implants, and they are made of an elastomer, so they can't leak.

The implants are placed on top of the muscles above the sitting area so you never sit on them.
To get a better idea as to where buttock implants would be placed, sit down, with good posture and feel where your jean back pockets are... that is where the implants would sit.

The incision is 2-3 inches, and is hidden in the crease between the buttocks.
The implants are placed below the surrounding fascia which secures them in place. We are able to fully augment the entire buttocks with this technique. The result is a beautiful and full buttocks. (The previous technique of intermuscular augmentation could only enlarge the upper one-third of the buttocks).

The incisions can also be made where the cheek meets the back of the thigh.  Within a year, after full maturation of the scar, you will be unable to tell that you had a surgery.

Ideals of Beautiful Buttocks...
As in any cosmetic surgery, the surgeon must understand not only the patient's requests, but also any universal ideals of proportions and contours that create the impression of beauty and youth.

Our medical teams receive patient from all over the world and our surgeons learned this concept from more than a thousand patients from more than 40 different countries.

As a general rule:

African and Caribbean's of African descent have a strong and consistent cultural ideal of very large buttocks, and several request a "shelf" (extreme prominence of the upper buttocks).

Latin patients and Hispanic descent choose buttocks that are very full, lateral buttocks that are very full, and prefer a slight fullness in the lateral thigh.

European and Caucasian patients generally want buttocks that are full but not extremely large.

Asian patients preferred buttocks that are small to moderate in size, but shapely; they do not like or request fullness in the lateral buttocks or lateral thigh.
 

ANESTHESIA
Epidural or general anaesthesia

SURGERY LENGTH
Buttock implant surgery usually takes about two to three hours to complete.

RECOVERY
You will have to rest between 24 and 48 hours.

Most likely, you will be able to resume calm, quiet work within a few days to 2 weeks following butt implants surgery. You should still avoid physical exertion for several weeks, depending on the advice of your surgeon.

You will probably be able to resume exercise and normal physical activities within a month or two.

PAIN
Buttock augmentation stretches the tissues, and can be painful. This is especially true when the implants are placed under the muscle. The pain is greatest within the first 48 hours.

REMOVAL OF THE STITCHES
The stitches will come out within a week to ten days.

BRUISES AND SWELLING
Swelling may continue, gradually subsiding over several weeks. As the swelling subsides, the results will become more apparent.

SCARS
With Microfat grafting, the resulting scars will be of no more than 1/8 inches (3 mm) in the areas from where the fat was removed.
